International Relations degrees

Overview

We live in a hyper-connected world with increasing challenges and opportunities. International Relations specialists play an important role in helping groups such as nations and governments to avoid conflict and to maintain harmonious relationships. Through meticulous research, they monitor and analyse global change and reform, trends and forces, and develop strategies and policies to inform high-level decision makers.

UniSQ's International Relations major provides you with the chance to gain knowledge in foreign affairs, global development and transitions, human security, migration, and war and terrorism, and their associated social, political, and economic issues. You will have the opportunity to develop excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills highly valued by a range of employers.

Students often combine their International Relations studies with other areas such as History, Journalism, Public Relations, Law, Politics, and Economics. International Relations students are also encouraged to incorporate a study abroad experience or an internship under the Australian National Internship Program to help provide an edge on entry into the workforce.
